Superfood Spotlight: Cacao 

What is it? Cacao is the raw, pure form of chocolate. Cacao Pods grow from cacao trees. They are one of the highest Natural sources of Antioxidants and come with a wide range of essential nutrients and minerals.

Recipes

Cacao Fudge Squares

(Raw, Vegan, GF)

Ingredients:

1 Cup Buckwheat Flour

2 Tsp Vanilla Extract

2 Tbsp Cacao Powder

7 Dates (pitted)

½ Cup water or almond milk (more as needed to blend)

1. Blend everything in food processor.

2. Shape into square on tinfoil and freeze over night.

3. Cut into small square pieces. Keeps best in freezer.


Blissful Cake Bites

2 Cups Cacao Powder

2 Cups Hemp Seeds

1 Cup Shredded Coconut

2 Cups Lucuma Powder 

½ Cup Coconut Sugar (can 5-10 drops liquid stevia instead)

1 Cup Coconut Oil (melted)

1 Cup Water

1. Add everything together into a bowl except for water and oil.

2. Slowly add oil and water. Massage with hands.

2. Form into pan or roll into balls. Place in freezer for 30 mins then keep in fridge for up to 2 weeks!

*Tip: I love to make these into balls and have them for breakfast or quick grab and go snack that gives me energy.
