“What if that which brings about soul-filled passion and joy, wasn’t just a watered down, fleeting moment on the weekend to be treated as a luxury for suffering through the days, but a non-negotiable foundation upon which we design our lives?” -Unknown

Why Wild Woman?

Wild Woman Retreats seek to transform the perception of what it means to be a woman.

Now, more than ever, we are re-examining what conditioned and normalized societal expectations have done to our sovereignty. There is an awakening to come back to what has been lost. To begin the work of reclaiming, restoring, and honoring the feminine essence.

Wild Woman Retreats seek to facilitate and ignite this awakening. Without the pressure or false ideology to change, improve, or fix women. But rather to help women remember all that they already are.

“Feminism is not about making women strong. Women are already strong. It is about changing the way the world perceives that strength.”

-G.D. Anderson

As women, we often come to believe we are never enough or that we require something outside of ourselves. This pressure from our culture drains the life, passion, and power from our hearts. It stifles our joy. We forget we are meant to feel wildly alive and free. We are meant to feel unbounded joy.

Wild Woman Retreats provide the space, education, experience, and authentic community connection to help women reclaim who they really are. All while resetting and getting away from it all in beautiful locations around the world.

This is for the Wild Woman we forgot.

Join us for a week of remembering. Reclaim your wild. Reclaim YOU.

Why Baja?

Reset and get away from it all in the beautiful, welcoming town of La Paz. La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur, a Mexican state on the Baja California Peninsula. A peaceful, safe, sandy town located on the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez full of local art and culture.

Baja provides the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure amongst beautiful ocean backdrops, plenty of sunshine, largely secluded beaches, and a welcoming local culture.

We are excited to partner with Casa Tara, a boutique, eco-conscious hotel and resort with stunning ocean views, beach access, staff that become like family, and nourishing healthy meals.

Casa Tara’s Core Values:

Casa Tara seeks to live in continuous harmony with the environment. We believe that nature is the nurturing force that provides us with everything we need to fulfill our bodies and souls, so we should take care of Mother Nature like she takes cares of us. This is why our building materials were carefully selected to be the best available low-impact alternatives: Straw bales were used as filler in the walls for insulation, and renewable solar energy powers part of the hotel. As to the atmosphere, we asked a Feng Shui expert to come and lead the whole furnishing and color scheme process inside all areas, so Casa Tara is literally a place suited to relax and get in touch with your inner self.

Adventure 1:

Whale Shark Swimming

Embark on an unforgettable whale shark swimming experience!! From early winter until late spring, whale sharks return from the cold waters of Alaska to the warmer ones of the Sea of Cortez. See these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat and get the chance to swim with them!

Adventure 2:

Island Snorkeling

Right in front of Casa Tara, across the water, is a 16-mile-long Virgin island of approximately 35,000,000 acres named Isla Cerralvo. The landscape features beautiful arid desert flora and a vast extension of coral reef that will astonish you. Enjoy a private panga ride there to spend the day snorkeling, hiking, and exploring!

Wow, I’m not sure how you put an experience like this into words. The Wild Woman retreat was simply magic! The gathering of women, the sharing, and the connections that transpired were immeasurable. I have never felt so much love and openness from other women and had so much FUN in one week. Since this retreat, my cup has been overflowing with gratitude and a new sense of being has emerged within me. The imprints this retreat has made on my heart and soul is one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this retreat. It turned out to be everything I didn’t know I needed. Anna planned such a healthy, well balanced week, with every detail considered. And the women who showed up came all-in. It was a perfect balance of rest, community, adventure, and learning. I left feeling refreshed and filled up physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you get the chance to do this, take it. Embrace your inner wild woman. Go all in. It is by far the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time (if not ever), and an experience for which I will be forever grateful.

Wildlife and the Wild Woman are both endangered species. Over time, we have seen the feminine instinctive nature looted, driven back, and overbuilt… it has been mismanaged like the wildlife and the wild lands. The spiritual lands of the Wild Woman have, throughout history, been plundered or burnt, dens bulldozed, and natural cycles forced into unnatural rhythms to please others. It is not by accident that the pristine wilderness of our planet disappears as the understanding of our own inner wild natures fades

Testimonials From Past Wild Woman:

I needed help finding my voice and the words to describe my experience with 12 strangers to begin with, soul sisters at the end. I miss most your proximity because in your company, I felt I could be my very best self. I have this photo from the week with my head thrown back in laughter. Now that’s something I can’t remember doing until the retreat. I didn’t even know how empty my cup was until I arrived. It then spilled over with the raw courage shown by each and every wild woman who showed up. And it was your workshops, Anna, that fast-tracked our intimacy. What a different experience it would have been without them. It would have been fun, but without the depth of connection. I felt brought to my knees, and then my hands touched the earth, allowing me to root down and rise up. With many weights lifted through storytelling, it was much easier to get back up. So thank you for the lesson that vulnerability matters. Telling your story to the right audience matters. My heart and soul loves you to the moon.
Oh man... So much about this was my favorite. Just from a planning perspective it seemed that every detail had been considered, from the welcome gifts to the mix of fun and realness to the setting to the follow up of recipes and a private Facebook group to continue to share as a group. The thing that really made it meaningful for me though was the environment of realness and non judgement - to be able to have meaningful conversation and sharing with women in a world that tells us we always have to put our best for forward was really a gift.
This experience has been a real game changer for me and I feel more alive then I have in years. It would have been awesome if the retreat were longer...I didn’t want it to end.
The workshops were so great, very applicable to life and things that impact us daily. Lots of take aways to help you refocus and improve your outlook on your own personal strength. Anna is lovely, clearly has so much to offer the world.
I can’t say enough about my experience on the Retreat with Anna. It was a beautiful mix of mindfulness and physical activity. They were great leaders who led the group to be extremely open and supportive to each other. I came with an empty cup and returned with a much more positive outlook, my cup was overfilled. If you are on the fence, please go you will be so glad you did!!
I definitely got what I wanted out of the retreat. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. The workshops were a great experience. They facilitated an environment for us to grow closer faster. Anna is a great educator and encourager. She is such a delightful, supportive person to be around.

Frequently Asked Questions

What airport do I fly into? La Paz International Airport (LAP). We will provide transportation from the Airport to the Hotel and back again. Once you secure your deposit we will send you information and guidelines for when to fly in, in order to coordinate your free airport pick-up. Please WAIT to book your flight until you receive this information from us!

You can also fly into the San Jose Del Cabo Airport (SJD) which requires a 2 hour shuttle to Casa Tara. San Jose Del Cabo tends to be a cheaper airplane ticket depending on where you are flying from. We we will provide a safe and private shuttle for this option as well for a small fee.

If you are flying from San Diego, we recommend flying out of Tijuana’s airport. Get dropped off/driven to the US side of the border, walk through customs, and pay the small fee to walk up and over the border (never actually stepping into Tijuana, the walkway drops you directly into the airport). Flights are around $200 roundtrip with Volaris out of the Tijuana airport.

Will I need a passport? Yes! A passport is required to travel in Mexico.

What am I supposed to pack? Once you send your deposit we will send you a complete packing list and further details regarding what to expect.

What if I’m newer to yoga? Perfect! Classes are all levels and we will have plenty of time to provide individual instruction and attention within our intimate setting. Both Genevieve and Anna have many years of experience guiding multiple abilities, body types, and ages through safe, challenging, fun, and supportive yoga classes. We would never ask you to do anything you aren’t ready for nor comfortable with. The goal is to empower you to feel good!

Is Mexico safe? Yes! We are staying in El Sargento, a small beach town 35 minutes outside of the main city of La Paz. There are very few tourists here so we will most likely have the beaches to ourselves! It is a very safe, quiet, and welcoming part of Mexico.
